Aleris choose the Skalpell® system for its Danish hospitals
Metodika has signed an agreement to implement its Skalpell® system across Aleris’ six Danish hospitals. The project starts in September and is expected to be fully implemented by the end of December this year.
Aleris is one of Scandinavia's leading health care organisations with 6,300 employees and activities in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.
Metodika is Scandinavia’s leading supplier for clinic and management systems to private hospitals and clinics. Metodika has a presence in 11 European countries.

SKALPELL® Version 7.0
On Dec 16, Metodika released SKALPELL® Version 7.0. The update includes several technical changes and new features. It also upgrades SKALPELL® with a new database engine with increased performance, support for the new Mac OS; Lion and a 64-bit version. Note that the 64-bit version of SKALPELL® still is in it’s beta phase. Some of the technical changes have been described in the document ”Skalpell V7 conversion”, available at www.metodika.com/skalpell/download

To-do list
This feature lets you create to-do lists, which will assist busy staff in managing their tasks.
Checklist
With checklists, you can associate checklists to activity types, which can serve as reminders for special treatments.
Medication Module
The Medication module has a new layout and with the introduction of medication packages, it is more efficient than ever.
As always, it is highly recommended you backup your SKALPELL® data before updating to the new version.

New rules and regulations
Sweden is the first country in Europe to adapt to the new EU regulations. It means that IT systems used must be CE certified. This regulation will be imposed in other EU countries as the health care regulations in each country are upgraded. Check with your IT- Specialist what regulations are applicable for you and what specifications you need for your Clinic and Management IT systems.

The Beauty Through Science conference takes place on June 10-12, 2011 at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. As usual, Metodika is participating introducing new functions of Skalpell. Among many new features, is the Derma View where you can click the area where you make an injection and indicate what product was used. With a second click you may enter the volume used.

As of 2010, Skalpell ver. 5.0 includes the unique Doctor’s View. This new function offers a window showing a selection of the most important data and tasks performed by the caregiver. The Doctor’s View is accessible from the Schedule, no need to navigate through menus, just point and click!
Everything from adding new images, entering codes to accessing the full medical journal of a patient are presented in a simple logical format. You can also move between appointments to prepare for your next patient, or review the outcome of patients you’ve already treated.
